Excuses: “I Don’t Feel Good” Edition
Excuses
It’s a new day, early in the morning, and you’ve made the commitment to eat well and exercise today. But, something in your mind, that nagging voice that justifies your lack of self-discipline says loudly: “I Don’t Feel Good.” Has this happened to you? Yeah, it’s happened to me too.
You and I know this voice is out there to hurt us. That voice that makes the excuse of “I Don’t Feel Good” is there to make sure we fail. Resolve to ignore that voice and get up and do something now!
Think about this:
- It doesn’t feel good when you put those pants on and they don’t fit.
- It doesn’t feel good when your son ask you to play ball with him, but you quickly lose steam keel over from exhaustion after 5 minutes.
- It doesn’t feel good when you get on the airplane and the seat is so tight and you have to ask for a lap extender so the seatbelt will fit over you; you are embarrassed the entire flight.
- It doesn’t feel good when you look at your yearbook and see pictures of a better-looking self; a better-feeling self. You yearn to get back there and become that person again.
Be good to yourself today. While it might be difficult, know that you can do it. Believe in yourself today.
