WonderSlim Reviews – Tex Mex Veggie with Chik’n

weight loss mexicanMexican food isn’t one of my favorites so I was reluctant to try this one. I should have followed my instincts because this is about the worst tasting slop I’ve ever eaten. I’d rather eat worms. The texture was rubbery and I kept asking myself as I forced one spoonful in after another is this animal, vegetable or what? I dumped most of it down the drain. I’m discouraged with this program after eating this and wonder if the other entrees will be equally unappetizing.

I tried this product for the first time and it is wonderful!! Tasty, a touch of spice and just flat out wonderful. Even my husband said it smelled delicious. This is a keeper for me!

I just can’t eat this at all, like chewing rubber.

This comes with the Starter Kits, so be careful. Try it early on so you can decide if you want to return it. When cooked, it has a strong, unappetizing smell. I made it more palatable to me by making sure it cooks long enough, and add cilantro and hot sauce. Not recommended.

Wonderful aroma and flavor! Makes everyone at work hungry when I make it. The texture is a little off. It would probably be better blended as a thick, southwest soup. Very tasty with cheese and olives!

I have to say, this was really good. I notice now my envelope says texmex chick’n, while my box says chick’n fajita. Maybe they have changed the recipe, because I have to admit I was really nervous to try this out of my starter kit because of all the negative reviews. I am so happy that it tasted great to me. I could smell the spiciness as soon as I opened the envelope. I did use a touch more water then asked for, and I let it sit until it was cold, then reheated it. The texture was fine, the “chicken” had the texture of chicken, and the beans and veggies came back wonderfully. It was way spicier than I was expecting. Full of flavor, heat, and texture. I think it would be really good in a low-carb tortilla. I am really pleased with this!!

Even though I really like most of the WonderSlim foods, I’ve found the taste and texture improve with time. I now make most of the meals the night before and keep in the fridge over night. The Chicken Fajita, IMO, benefits greatly from this, and I really like it now.

too bad I couldnt rate it negative stars! Mushy, waxy, and no flavor.

This was the first non-shake meal replacement I tried, and it was REALLY hard to get it all down. Flavorless, liquidy, gross. Not remotely appetizing. I will likely return the rest of this product.

This item is pretty tasty I find the consistency leaves a bit to be desired. It’s not as spicy as “Southwestern” would imply so I add Tabasco or hot sauce to bring it up to speed. It is one of the varieties that we consistently order.

Mushy, weird and not for me. I threw away 7 packs after I tried to give them away and tried to eat them. I just can’t waste calories on this.

Ok, so this is truly horrible if you just prepare without additions. Try adding spices, I added 1/4 chicken bullion cube, couple of dashes of cayenne pepper, pinch of thyme some green onions and 1 cup of vegetables (carrots, green beans, peas or slivered zucchini and yellow squash (my favorite)). And you will have a very tasty meal.

I tried this for the first time last night and was totally disappointed. The texture, taste and appearance are enough to ruin your appetite. It is a shame that this is included in the starterkit as it could really be a turnoff to the program. I would recommend that you lose this item!

Actually I didn’t think this product was that bad. I did have to cook it more than what was suggested to get it thicken up. It was sort of like soft stuffing mix in texture. Overall though it wasn’t bad. I’m going to try seasoning it a bit next time.

this makes me wanna puke.

I have to go along with the majority of reviewers who found this entree to be disgusting. I got it as a sample, and I’m glad I didn’t purchase a whole box. I love the vast majority of the products I’ve purchased through Diet Direct, but this was kind of mushy and gross. I dumped some hot sauce on it and choked it down, but I won’t be ordering any more.

I was looking forward to this meal but it looked disgusting and while I tried to choke it back I could not stomach it. Not what I was expecting at all. The texture is not the best either.

It just goes to show that taste varies. I am surprised to see that several people are not fond of this entree. I really really like it. To me, it’s very ‘chickeny’. I usually add a couple of dashes garlic powder, cayenne pepper and some dried thyme. Sometimes I add a little bit of frozen mixed veggies before I prepare it and voila, delicious. I have even added curry powder to it, and that’s also yummy. I love the tender texture, it’s not chewy or rubbery like other chicken substitutes that I have had in the past.

The flavor is much better than most protein powder meals (ie mac n cheese or chili). The texture could you a lot of help. I also suggest getting a free sample first.

I have been eating these protein products for 8 months and lost 75 pounds. I like 90% of the products but this isn’t one of them. The texture of the “simulated” chicken is not appetizing for me at all. Maybe others will like it. I recommend trying the sample first and see if you like them.

I disagree with the posted review. This is a horrible meal. I ordered two boxes because of the glowing review posted on the website. I can hardly choke them down. I have tried to add additional spices and vegetables and it is still beyond help. I am not sure if I should just choke them down because I paid for them, pay to return them or just throw them away.

This is absolutely delicious and filling. I served it on a bed of lettuce and was completely satisfied.
